I like old vette models too. Fair price and make good decorations on the shelves of my office. I'll drop by W-Mart tonight to see if I can get a couple (maybe they have the same/similar ones in my neck of the woods).

I thought the red L88 was long ago discontinued. I bought one off ebay and used it to build a replica of my 68 vert! Came out real nice except the hood (I have a bigblock hood) Tried to transplant a hood from an LT1 model but that didn't work.

I always watch the model racks. I build mostly WWII aircraft, but do a few cars as well, and there are some gems that show up at random times. Most regular modellers know to keep an eye on the mass retailers (it's places like Long's drugs out here) because they get huge shipments and some oddball stuff shows up. Revell/Monogram and the other large manufacturers re-release specific models on occasion as well.
I'd love more info on the one with the flag grafics. I can't tell from the picture what year it is or who made it. The other one is a re-hash of one that has been released a few times over the years. Makes a nice '69 with just a little filling (door buttons and backup lights).

Im not against a union, im just saying they have become too greedy and powerful. It is almost impossible to fire someone because of imcompetency or negligence. My uncle was the in QC at daimler chrysler, and would always get chewed out becuase the lazy herion addicts wouldnt do anything. My uncle would go in the bathroom and they would be shooting up. Tell them to quit messing around and go to work and they pull a knife. Complain to higher management and they are powerless to fire the people. In the meantime, they also have free lawyers. They can sue anyone and drag it on for aslong as they want. Not to mention they make absurd amounts of money just because they got into the union. The Delphi plant isnt union, yet they have close to the same benefits as the union workers and make a few dollars an hour more. Why? Because they dont have to pay union fees and the workers are actually competent. They can be fired if they show up late, or dont give a #@$% about what they are doing. The union pushes the envelope too far.

Its off topic but I had to say it.
Frank you and Patolman are both right. Walmart is a major contributor to off shoring of American jobs...I hate that damn place and never shop there. However, they are also pure American capitalizm at their finest. They buy off shore crap because the American consumer wants the cheapest crap they can find. Walmart is in business to make money not support the american worker!!! If we as consumers don't demand any different then off shoring is our fault not theirs. Walmart didn't get to be .3% of the entire US economy by NOT selling anything. As for save the unions spare me. Ask yourself why United and Delta are Bankrupt yet Southwest is making record profits. The answer is labor flexability. Realize that the harder unions push the faster they push jobs off shore. The world doesn't owe anyone free healthcare coverage and a guaranteed raise. And ask me if its fair that some UAW jack *** get paid $35/hr to screw in a bolt just because he works in MI yet GM requires their vendors to recognize 10% cost reduction every year. Guess where that cost reduction leads? Yep parts suppliers over seas.

Safety Car
Should open my eyes...
Took another look at the picture. Doh! Revell makes it, but is it a '71? I'm pretty sure that the Greenwood car was a '68... I guess they can make it anything they want, 'eh? I'd love to see the decal sheet in that one...

I haven't collected in a while... I think my newest one is one of the C5s...
If I had to keep one of them all, it'd be the 78 Pace Car, of course. Awesome model, by the way. I will get a C6, not sure about C5R as those tend to be pricey.
