President Bush is here in Reno!
It's really Zoo when Air force One and the motorcade is cruising around.
He's giving an indoor speech to 10,000 ticket holding best friends. Even though I'm a registered Republican I didn't get one.
I did get to see his Dad speak when he was here for a VFW convention while he was President.
We need to pray for our great nation and Pres. Bush to make the right decisions! Also our army in Iraq that the Iraqi people will see that we really are trying to do good things in their country. These bombings have to stop!

Kelly,
Do what most people do and go out and get one yourself.

Rod - Lots of people at work were doing pre security. He's got a whole floor at the local big casino.
To you others: Nevada has legal women places. It's everywhere so why not make it safe.
The crud I have seen around the world is so sad. There is a special place for people that take young kids off the streets

Go out and get myself one? What do you think I have been doing for the last 8 months? Jobs in Ohio, especially in the IT field, just are not out there. Right now, Ohio unemployment rate went from 5.7 to 5.8 from April.
Want to know how bad it is here? I have a friend who has been un-employed for over two years (still un-employed), my Aunt just lost her job due to downsizing, another friend had been out of a job in the IT field as a programmer after 20 years and you know what he is doing now?? He is a semi truck driver. He just started last month.
Now jobless rates increased in Ohio, Arizona, Arkansas and Washington. As quoted -
"Still, the economy has lost almost 1.5 million jobs since Bush took office in January 2001. Recent payroll gains have helped shrink that deficit, but Bush is on track to be the first president since Herbert Hoover to lose jobs on his watch." (note - here is the article - http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centr...s/8724232.htm" notice that there is a statement of - "Zandi said to draw a circle around Columbus, Ohio, that extends 500 miles in diameter, and it maps the weakest part of the country economically.")
Now, I have been working my butt off to get a job. I even went to classes to get my CCNA - one of the hardest test to pass in the IT field (I passed it hte first time). I have an associates in Computer Programming, a bunch of CNE certs from Novell, (not to mention the other IT classes I have attended) I even have an electronics background from my 6 years in the Navy. Can we say Veteran?
I have gone to every possible format to try to get a job. (inculding AMVETs and WIA) Sure I have had a few interviews, but there is always someone else with the desired skills the company is looking for. The IT field is a very specialized field and a very broad one at that, but if you are not what the employer is looking for, you have to keep looking until you get the right match, and yes, I am still looking. Probably more so than anyone else out there.
Sorry, but I feel that since Bush got into office, things have gone downhill.

Kelly see if this helps. http://jobsearch.monster.com/jobsear...rd=1,1862,1863 Were still taking positions with the FY05 contracts. BTW the downward spiral started well before Clinton left office.

Re: President Bush is here in Reno! (Cali,68,L-79)
Thanks, Cali, but I want to try to keep in Ohio for now. I was stationed in San Diego and I loved it. (I was on the USS Constellation and also the USS Midway which is supposed to be a Museum out there now!!) Right now I am about to go to a corvette show in Marysville. Taking the 69!!
Oh yeah, your search link brought up 1071 job postings.
Thanks for the tip. Send the link again and I will take a look at it. Maybe a trip to San Diego will not be that bad after all!!! Maybe it is time to relocate???

I do wish you good luck, but don't channel your energies into the blame game.

For me, since Bush got into office, things have gone uphill. That's my situation. The point is that it is all relative to each individual. Really, it's human nature to blame who you can when things go wrong. The truth is the IT business collapsed significantly in 1999 and 2000, the IT business "corrected" itself, but that was on Clinton's watch. Not that it was really his fault either. For all the playing with facts and figures to suit a political agenda, the truth is that unemployment is relatively low in the US right now. That means nothing for your situation of course, you need a job. You have the misfortune to be in the wrong field in the wrong place at the wrong time. The solution - relocate if possible, train for a different field, accept that you are going to have a lower salary, or wait it out until their is a demand for your specialty in your area.

I go to AA meetings and hear this same whine all the time....No one wants to make an effort to get off their butt to take action to change their employment status....If IT ain't working for you do what your friend did...change careers...train for something else.....If "If Gord farming is no longer profitable, maybe its time to plant another type of crop" Just don't sit around whinning about how it's President Bush's fault....That's almost as bad as those going around saying President Bush had a part in flying the planes into the Twin Towers. :mad Remember when you're pointing that finger look at your hand there's three of your fingers pointed back at YOU.
