Bill Oxley, 1974 Rear End Info....
Bill, just did my rear trailing arm rubber brake hoses and I noticed that my '74, which is an L-48 automatic car has the yoke caps for the u-joints near the differential. I bought this car with 27,000 original miles and I know for a fact nothing was ever done to the rear end. I remember something about one of your posts one of your '74's had the HD rear end yoke caps.

Re: Bill Oxley, 1974 Rear End Info.... (Stewart's74)
When i bought my 81, I redid the whole rear, Everything new.
the car was only driven a total of 4 years, since new. no mods,
all stock with 49000 miles. The books called for the small u-joints
on the half shafts. I already threw the old away long before i got
the new ones. come to find out i had needed the ones for the
manual trans cars. I guess this meant more heavy duty type
u-joints. I've know the car since new. but that was strange in
a good way
