New TV Show: "Overhaulin"
I happened upon a new TV show. An auto repair shop takes somebodies plain-jane beater and transforms it into a show-quality ride in 7 days (7, 24-hour days). The episode I saw had a Green '71 Chevelle with vinyl top transformed into an awesome flamed, red ride with parts DONATED by Edelbrock (440hp, injected 350), Hotchkis, etc.
Now, if I could only move to LA and get them to take the vette for a week... :smash: :smash: :smash:

I have wathced this show a couple of times. it is pretty good. They pull gags on the car owners, telling them the car was stolen, shipped off by mistake, etc. and then in one week they restore then car. it worth watching.

I like this one because the customizing is more mild and sticks with the theme of the car. They don't trash it up by installing video games and coffee makers like pimp my ride. No phoney pissin contests like the American Chooper and Hot Rod shows.

I've already told my wife it is o.k to call them to work on my vette. I would love to come home and find my vette has been professionaly rebuilt with new engine and all.

Good show so far.
As long as they keep to many imports, 1000 watt sound systems and flashy useless stuff like wheel spinners (not the knockoff kind) off the show. I would let them have mine fora year if they could get the results their showing in 7 days.
Paul , Jr. and Mikey (OCC) are good entertainment though.Better than most reality garbage on TV now days. Monster garage got to hoky it can go away now.

Re: New TV Show: "Overhaulin" (TedH)
I've seen three shows and it is amazing to watch Chip Foose "sketch" a
design. He can do in 30 seconds what it looks like would take hours to do!
I've wondered what the "victims" do when their daily driver is tranformed into a show car. I don't think I would drive a Chip Foose designed custom car to work and park it in the lot with all the other "drivers"!

Yea Chip Foose is definetly one of THE most gifted designers ever. I have my phone remind me every Tuesday that Rides is coming on that night because I am addicted to that show.
Has anyone seen Chop Cut Rebuild on Speed TV. It comes on on Thursday nights. I dont really like it. Theres too much complaining and they kinda seem like Bubba mechanics. I dont know it just doesnt seem the same quality as some of the shows.

Foose  They just did an episode on "Rides" where Foose built a full size version of the Diorama Hot Wheels Car that was issued 30 years ago. Absolutely incredible. They carved a full sized model of the car from a solid block of styrofoam using a five axis 20 ton CNC mill that was accurate down to 1 micron. I haven't felt that way since I went through puberty.

i would love to see what this Foose guy can do to a C3 vette.
i also was drooling over the Rides episode where they made the Hot Wheels car. i was debating with everyone at work the day after about that giant CNC, and we all agreed that there was no way that it could pull 1 mircon. more like 25u which is .001", but regardless we all dreamed of having access to such a toy. :smash: :smash:
