squeaky brakes bad on rotors????
yea buddy's got his 79 ready to go, last year the brakes were really squeaking bad, hes wondering if his rotor's are gonna be toast. I don't think the brakes have screech pads, so screeching is prbably bad news..... any ideas guys?

Squeaking or grinding?
Squeaking may just mean the rotors need to be cut.
Grinding my need new rotors.

i don't know, this was 6 months ago before he put it away for winter. he says it was squeeking when applying brakes, not grinding, jsut squeeking. I think if the rivvets were grinting in the rotos youd hear a rouch gowdging sound.

When the pads wear to just the rivets touching, they will squeak.
It should be easy to visually inspect for this by simply pulling the tire off.
Just a glance at the pads will tell if they are worn down.
Also, any significant grooves in the rotor will be obvious.
