Tire width
What is the max width of tire that I can fit into a stock wheel well with offset trailing arms? I am planning on using a set of rims that I just bought, the rim size is 16 x 9.5. The rims came off from a C4 so I will have to get adapters. Your comments will be appreciated.

255/50/16 should work. I'm not sure they offer anything wider than that in a 16 inch wheel. With my ZR1 set up and adaptors, I'm running 275/40/17 all the way around.

With offset trailing arms 295's will fit fine. I am presently running 305's but they are hard to find.
This tire shot is a 305 but the upper and lower trailing arms are disconnected and the lower on is holding the tire out and it is leaning out at the top.

Here's a shot of P295 50's as seen from the top.The Welds I run are 15x9 and have a 5 1/2" backset.I run a 1 1/4" VB&P wheel adaptor which gives what I feel is a perfect fit.I tend to like the fat tire look on C-3's so I steered away from the "big" wheels.

Thank you for the responses. As soon as I get the car back from the bodyshop I will be putting the rims and tires on.
