Can Side Pipes Be Installed On a 77 Corvette?
Has anyone done this? What stuff did you use? Asking for someone else? :confused:

Sidepipes can be put on any C-3, wether it is legal or not in your state is another question. Guys have put Hooker sidepipes, stock sidepipes and home-made sidepipes on just about any year you can bring up.
The emissions inspection in your own area regulates if they are going to check for a Cat on your car. According to Federal law, you cannot remove the Cat from any car or truck that had it originally, unless the car is used for off road racing.

In the early eighties I lived in Pensacola. A friend in the Mobile Corvette Club put sidepipes on his 1977 and said the only difference was his top speed went from 125 to 130.
Simple bolt on and Alabama had very liberal rules on inspections.

As they say, they will fit. Don't think Florida has any inspection-yet. If I did this swap I would save every nut, bolt, screw, and piece that comes off because you may need it some day.

As has been said before, side pipes will fit on any C3 but the legality is something else. The good thing about the rubber bumper cars is that you dont have to fill in the rear valence when you take out the under car exhaust.

ok im new 2 the board ohsixx asked for me i have a 77 Corvette i bought and working on i was gonna just put flowmasters on it but i would like 2 have side pipes on it i think it will bring the car out . :thumbs:
