How many of you remove your spare tire/carrier ???
I can live with it I guess, but It kinda looks like a full diaper sitting under there.

I keep mine in for ballast and to shield the underside of the fuel tank from road debri.

Mine is gone. Looks better and saves weight. I know it helps in a rear end collision but that is my decisiion.
After I replace my front's soon, a correct size spare won't fit anyway. (225s about the max) I'm thinking of a custom enclosure back there to hold a "space-saver" spare of correct diameter, as small and light as I can get it. It would also serve as a rear underbody pan, to aid aero and resist rearend lift.

I kept mine in place for two reasons.
1. Maintains better front to rear wieght ratio.
2. keeps the rear ride hieght lower.

I yanked mine out, too ugly and too much weight. I'm installing something really cool in its place.

I pulled mine out at the end of summer while i was painting the undercarrage. The spare was flat. So I have no Idea how long I was carrying a useless spare. Plan on cleaning it up. will make my decision later. I will be doing some rear end work this year, so I'll probably keep it off for a while.

Pulled it.
Have a can of fix a flat.
And if I ever go any distance I'm usually pulling a trailer with a set of race wheels anyway :smash

As said on Seinfeld " IT, OUT"
I have kept the top section plastic piece mounted to act as a brush guard of sorts for the gas tank though.

Gone. It was old and flat anyway. So I've now taken 60 pounds out of the back (spare tire) and 12 pounds out of the front (Steeroids), and probably a few out the middle, too (TH350 to 200-4R tranny swap)!
Excess weight is the enemy of handling and performance :yesnod:

Ya know, one think I would like about the removal is the visibility of the duals and the rear diff/suspension. Right now, it is 'hidden'. With most of the parts new or rebuilt, I'd knod of like to show them off. I may remove...
