Default fat tires/ emergency brake cable

Hi All, I just brought my 74 coupe home from the engine shop and while it was there, someone stole the wheels and tires. The shop replaced them and I paid the difference in tires to upgrade to BFG 255/60's. The problem was on the rear. They fit, but they were hitting the emergency brake cable. I put a hose clamp on the arm to hold the cable off the tires for now. Does anyone have a better suggestion? Also, the cable bracket is very close to the tire?

Thanks,

You need to carefully cut the e-brake mount point off the side of the trailing arm and then weld it to the top of the trailing arm. I have not done this but there are several threads covering the subject. If the search feature is working you should have no trouble finding the threads.

Good luck

I had no problems when I was running 255-60-15's but relocated the brake bracket to the top of the trailing arm to run 275-60-15's. Is it your bracket or the cable itself which is to close?? Maybe the cable is twisted the wrong way.

T-arm could be bent. Very common problem.
