I think they are a bit high, not in the mental sense either, pricewise.

As long as they are ORIGINAL miles, and assuming it is a STRAIGHT car, and NUMBERS MATCH, and it has a NOHIT BODY, and if it has NEVER SEEN RAIN, sounds like a good deal to me! MJ

Yep...the last of the original roadsters is a collector. And, the L82 with 4sp roadster is the most rare...I believe that particular combination had less than a hundred roll out of the factory. I don't have all the stats, but anyone looking at a 75 roadster would be very prudent to consult the RPO numbers to see how it fares. It's even possible that something like a 75 roadster with L82 and 4-speed with Z07 suspension and all luxury items that rolled out of the factory could be a one of a kind and 37,000 is cheap compared to some of the other one of a kind cars (we've seen them on ebay haven't we).

I just want to know one thing; how can somebody own a car like that and only put 710 miles on it?

Just using the percentages for the various options to figure out how many 1975 Convertibles are like mine:

There were 38,465 total 1975 Vettes.

12% were Verts = 4,629 (actual production number)

6% of all 1975 Vettes were L82s

0.06 x 4,629 = 278

Only 2.7% were close ratio M21 4-speeds

0.027 x 278 = 7

Code 42 Bright Green Metallic was the second lowest color that was ordered in 1975. Steel Blue was only offered for three months. I don't know the percentages however. There were 10 colors available. Just say that Bright Green Metallic was on 5%.

It is possible that more L82s were ordered with close ratio 4-speeds than L48s. But the numbers are not broken down that way.

There probably aren't any more than 10 or 20 1975 convertibles with L82 engines and M21 4-speeds. If 5% of those are bright green metallic you end up with only one! (20 x 0.05 = 1)

Since the actual build sheets are not available from Chevrolet at this time, all you can do is arithmatic to approximate the number of Vettes with particular options.

:iagree: I hope they continue easing up too. :D

Mostly original or NOS parts, 42,000 miles with original interior. Has never had any body damage and hasn't seen a drop of rain for the last six years. Gets driven every couple of weeks for a bit depending on the weather and the brakes have never been rebuilt or leaked. Everything works except the crappy clock. Has every option except the L82 and four-speed. :banghead: :banghead:

Runs great, considering the period it was built, and I'v been very pleased with it.

Cajun 75

Did you put the sport mirrors on your car? I am thinking about putting them on my car. I know that they are not original, but I miss not having a rightside mirror.

Saw a 75 Vert under a carport a couple of years ago, just happen to go by the same house the other day and it's still there up on blocks---Hmm maybe I should knock on his door?

Actually the previous owner put them on several years ago but recently I yanked them and installed NOS factory large-head chrome mirrors on both sides. Haven't gotten around to taking some new pics.

Other than their looks I never did like the sport mirrors. They sit too low to the door and you can't see much behind you because of the curve of the rear fenders. If you're considering them give that some thought.

I'm much, much happier having the stock mirrors reinstalled. Now I can see what's behind me again

Thanks

I had just installed a new GM large head on the leftside. I guess I will get a rightside one.

Jim, there were 144 Z07 built '75 Corvettes. Z07 required L-82(OR bigblock IN '73/'74) & M-21, so we know that "at least" 144 had M-21. I have over maybe 20 NON-Z07 cars in my '75 L-82 survey that I know ARE M-21 cars.
Also, per my letter from GM, ""366"" 1975 L-82 convertibles were ever built, making a '75 L-82 'vert a pretty rare beast in my book. Also, as I was doing my '75 L-82 Survey, I saw more "non-L-82s" with L-82 hood emblems THAN TRUE L-82s(fifth digit a "T" in VIN). :lolg:

ps, Bob McDorman Chevrolet Columbus,Ohio, in his collection, has a Bright Green/Saddle Leather L-82/M-21 car(window sticker still on glass),Black Vinyl Hardtop. :p:

Hey Paul,FYI- I think I originally told you my 75 L-82 was an M-21 3:70 car. Well after rebuilding it I found out it's a M-20 (WR ST-10), 3:55 - L-82 car.

Gary, thanks, I'll have to note this  I guess we should cleared this up earlier. Even though GM started using the Borg-Warner 4spd around Feb/March of '74, GM still used "M-20/M-21" up UNTIL 1979. It took GM 5 years to realize they were'nt "M-20/M-21s" anymore & in 1980 & '81 BECAME "MM4" Tarnsmissions :lolg:

Paul,
That is what happens when you just use straight arithmetic percentages. I ended up about 90 short on the number of L82 Verts. I don't have the build sheet on mine, but I do have the Chevrolet "Scheduled Price Sheet" which says "M21 FOUR SPEED CLOSE-RATIO TRANS. .00"

I would imagine that "C60 FOUR-SEASON AIR CONDITIONING 490.00" probably makes my car somewhat rare as well.

I think that I sent you the info on my Vette for you survey. If I remember correctly.

Jim, yes you did, got your info. What is IRONIC is I have another '75 Bright Green/Saddle Leather car(not the one at McDorman's)that is ONLY 397 VIN numbers AFTER yours  , so I have ONLY 3 Bright Green L-82 roadsters total in my Survey-no coupes  :yesnod:
