1968 hard brittle wiring
I'm starting to dig into my ebay 68 vette and as expected from a car of this vintage, all the wiring has become somewhat brittle. all the "new wiring suppleness" has gone.
is there any magic elixir in the restoration biz that can make my wiring young again?
thanks

:iagree: Once they get brittle you don't want them around anyway. The $1000 for new harnesses will be offset by not having the car burn to the ground with an electrical fire. Look at Last Detail, they have Lectric Limited harnesses (the best IMHO) at great prices.

I have two Lectric Limited harneses wainting to go in. They came from TLD and arrived before they even billed. Takes about 2 days to get the harnessess. Quick.

Re: 1968 hard brittle wiring (jimiscnc)
The Painless harness is a do-it-yourself one-size-fits-all. I have used a few on customs/street rods and they are great if you don't need many circuits and don't mind installing your own ends on all but the column and ignition switch. On a 68-72 Vette you would have to do a lot of extra wiring to keep the wiper door. Lectric Limited makes year specific, option specific (w/ or w/o A/C, auto or manual trans) harness. They go right in with correct ends, wire colors, etc. They would include the fiber-optics as required. If you are going to make a race car or custom, go with Painless. If you are going to do a restoration or basically stock rebuild, go with Lectric Limited. Painless comes in 1 piece, Lectric Limited is bought in pieces as stock (forward lamp, engine, main dash, taillamp, and A/C if applicable). Hope that helps.
