Vanacor Corvette Parts??
Anyone familiar with the quality of their products? I've been looking around for various fiberglass parts, hoods in particular, and they seem to have the best prices so far.But I didnt see a Stinger hood for a C3 hood on their site, for another freind.I did find the Daytona/vented hi-rise hood I was thinking of using, though. :D :flag ----> http://www.vanacorvette.com :steering:

He's been recently murdered, so not sure if they are still in business. I will say that I think their parts are crap. I've tried to use his stuff because it is cheap, but you get what you pay for. Personally, I like ACI.

Murdered? I just talked to some lady there today.Sounds like theyre in business-she said the stuff is 10% off till the end of the month. How do you mean CRAP...the fit,the finish, the thickness. She told me the parts are made to be able to use the stock hinges,etc...

It was cheap and close by so that is what I used. I though most of the parts were pretty good that I have gotten. My biggest complaint is that the front end they sell does not have a metal reinforcing bar for the bumper.

Re: Vanacor Corvette Parts?? (redson)
I put on their daytona hood, front end, rear spoiler, ground effect and am happy with it. The ground kit and front end required a bit of grinding and fitting. I love that hood, the holes in the daytona hood need a bit if work, easy if you use a dremel tool. Also I had to remanufacture one hood latch to make the hood sit down low enough. I was very fussy with the fit and supect that all hoods would require a bit of work. All vettes are kind of hand fitted when new. My frist choice of where to buy the hood had just sold out to vanacor. Good luck. jamiej

That Daytona hood is the one I like,& its around $150 less than ACI's if I remember right.I didnt notice, but do you know if they make a Stinger hood for a C3,a '77 to be exact.I want the Daytona for my '79. :  I've already got front & rear spoilers.I might check out the side pieces later. :flag

Most of the glass on my car (L88 hood, rear exhaust panel, quarter panal) all come from Vanacor. Everything fits great and I highly recommend them. :yesnod:
Side note, the owner was killed about a month a ago, business will not change since his wife was running the business because he was always on the road making the big Corvette meets. Shame, he was a nice guy.

I wonder what they will do with his son? I'd say he will go away to a nice little mental hospital for a year or so and then miraculously recover from his illness.

Re: Vanacor Corvette Parts?? (AGVI)
OK, AGVI has a good point on using Ecklers for quality purposes and Ecklers Lowest Price Guarentee has an offer to match any competitors price from catalog or web-site. If you have to ship your items then I'd go with the Ecklers glass. I have always picked my fiberglass up from Bryan Vanacor at the Corvette EXPO and got to see what I was getting and saved several dollars on shipping and handling.

Re: Vanacor Corvette Parts?? (PROSOUTH)
Mine was a little off and needed to be slightly reshaped in some areas and took about a month and a half to get. They told me it was in stock but it obviously wasn't.

I have their complete nose on my midyear and a front bumper on my 80. For the money you cant go wrong, I am happy with both the peices. Of course there is always a little trim here and grind there to get the fit you want .The owner even lowered the price on my 2nd purchase years later. Overall very happy.
