That car would make a fine addition to any collection... :yesnod:
...of junkyard parts. Poor old car. Some are just not worth the money to restore. :nonod:

So he cut squares around the hood latches. Then he opened the hood and finagled the pieces out of the latches?? :skep:
I'd have left them there and when the hood opened and closed I would have called it custom body work.

 He'd have to pay me to take it off his hands. Talk about a money pit.

Re: Check out EBay solution to a stuck hood (TheVin)
I went to look at a Red '63 split window that was for sale in the next town about '78 or so. It was a really nice car.
The hood cable was broken on it so I took a grub hoe and chopped it open. Not nearly as neat a job as this guy has done................
Oh, forgot to tell you it was on fire at the time. The guy that had it for sale had broken the cable and had not repaired it yet. He flooded the carb while trying to start it for me and it backfired and caught the air cleaner on fire. It was one of the chrome open top air cleaners with the sponge (gas holding) filters.
It was either chop open the hood or lose the car, he handed me the hoe to do it with. I don't think he had the heart to do it.

seen that car on ebay before. either it's passed hands, or they aren't getting what they feel it's worth.
personally, i think they should take the highest bidder and be happy with that. that car is in sorry shape.

He should have posted the question, How do I get my stuck hood open?, here on the forum.
