Re: TIRE"S from Tire Rack (comp)
I have purschased about 6 sets of tires from over the last 10yrs with great service and no complaints. I'm about to order a set for my truck in about 2 weeks from Tire Rack.

Absolutely no issues whatsoever and great prices.
They even have a list of recommended installers for your area if you enter in your zip code, in case you didnt have one in mind.
When you get your tires balanced, ask for the hidden tapeweights so you dont have any regular weights hanging on the front of your rim.

Re: TIRE"S from Tire Rack (burners)
For some reason they called me and asked for a second telephone number. Stilled puzzled by that. Something about they experience a lot of fraud.
No problems with the tires though!

I was all set to buy a set of Michelins for my Blazer from them because they had the best price, including shipping.
Then a guy from work told me to check Sams Club. I went to their website, and they had them for the same price as Tire Rack, and free in-store pickup, saving me the shipping charges!
They probably won't carry too many performance tires though, but it may be worth a check.

I usually get my info from Tire Rack and then call Belle Tire and have them match or beat Tire Rack's price. With the tires I put on my truck, I got all 4 mounted, balanced and installed for less than the price of the tires at Tire Rack.

I bought my Bridgestones there about 2 months ago. Since I live about 20 miles from their main warehouse in South Bend, IN, I had them mount them there and didn't have to pay any shipping. They did a great job and I would give them a big  .
Their computer balancer checks wheel runout while it is balancing.

I love tire rack! The info on there websight is outstanding!! I am always happy about my purchase from Tire Rack. With all that info they definately earn the sale! Even if a local shop is willing to match the price, it is not fair because no local shop would ever provide the info that tire rack does.
And in my neighborhood it just so happens that Tire Rack delivers to the best install shop in town :)

The tire rack has great service and great tires. I've ordered from them before. But the local guys can provide you with something the Tire Rack cannot: installation with no hassles.
Here's the deal: The first price the local guys give you(my experience was with Goodyear) is :bs
Negotiate with these guys. WALK OUT! I can't say this enough. So...WALK OUT!
I walked out twice, before accepting the guy's offer. The tires for my '77 went from over $500 to less than $350 installed.
So work the local guys. They are hungry.
