Anyone heard of a 1971 GT Corvette?
Hey all!
Had one of the younger guys on the floor trying to tell me that he had a 1971 GT Corvette. He said it was orange with black stripes, no bumpers in the rear, and a GT emblem on the fender and rear bumper. He says only 150 were made.
The only thing I can think of would be a Baldwin Motion car, but he said he picked it up as a basket case for $700. No way in hell a BM car in any condition would go for that.
He says he'll get me pics, and he says he knows where 2 of them are. I think he's either FOS or just doesn't know what he's looking at.
Anyone know of anything like that?

No such animal from the factory. Could be something that a dealer did, add some special badges and bump the price up :)

Never head of a Corvete GT 90qzrblu.
Someone has probably confused the Opel GT for being a member of the Corvette family, there were many that felt the Opel had a similar body style in the early days.

I hadn't thought of that. They do look similar. I'll wait for the pictures.

Now if only they performed like Corvettes, that'd be an awesome car. But since they only have 1100 CC's of fury, I don't think that's gonna happen.

There were a lot of name badges over the years on corvettes, But there was never a GT model made. There were corvettes, stringrays. different editions over the years. The Baldwin/motion cars were still stingrays, just modified.

I have heard of one in a magazine once. But thats all I know, i'll try to look for the magazine. Many people try to make up things......but at the same time rare stuff is out there. Really need the documentation.
