I just recently moved cross-country coutesy of the USAF and I had to ship my Vette. Well, the truck showed up yesterday and the driver pulled a car off the transporter and tried to pass it of to me.



I tried to tell the guy he was making a mistake, but he insisted.



"Look", I said, "My car is white, not silver, and besides, some dude named Callaway painted his name all over that car. And that's a C-7R and mine's a C-3"

Well, I finally convinced him that it wasn't my car, so he tried another one. Well, this one was even worse. Somebody had named it "Sledgehammer" and the speedometer was stuck on 254 mph...who'd believe that? We went back into the truck one more time and finally found my Vette, nestled snug deep in the transporter.



I was glad we finally found it!



I took the keys and got outta there before they tried to pull something else.

OK, all joking aside. my Vette did share a cross-country ride with Callaway's C7R and Sledgehammer. They were on their way to the Barrett-Jackson Auction. The C7R is going for $250K and the 'Hammer is expected to go for more.

Oh yeah, that piece of crap on the bottom? That's Richard Petty's 1972 Winston Cup Champion car...heading to the restoration shop. I don't know if I could drive one of those transporters - the cars I was hauling would keep "disappearing".

I think this adds about $10,000 to the value of my Vette.

Your more honest than I am.....I would have been half way to Mexico in that C7-R before the delivery trucks lift gate was even back up.. :D

Don't you just know he loaded the cars that way so he could drive both of them off the truck just one more time. That is probably the same reason Richard Pettys car is at the back. I know I would load them this way so I could get the chance at em once. Cool story.

A Ferrari parked next to my '79 at a car show on Sat. I think the sudden lack of interest in my Vette made the value drop a few grand!
