That is the first time I have seen an alternator mounted backward. Pretty imaginative IMO. Way to go.

See because the CSI pump is as long as a long water pump my alternator was mounted next to the passenger side head, and ran off the pully from the water pump, and sence that is gone now the new water pump compleatly bocks off the belt leading to the alternator. Later i figured out only way it can work it its low mounted so i thought up of this because all the low mount kits go on the driver side were the PS pumps is... Now sence i had no room there or on the passenger side because of the hose blocking the space, and no bolt holes in the block i had it mount it backwards off the PS pump. it works tho lolz
actualy MARCH pullys is makeing a kit for electric water pumps Im probably gonna buy it when it comes out in a month, because i always wanted serpentine belts

Are you concerned with cooling since the fan is now turning backwards?

Instead of offering my opinion directly, I'll ask others a question:

"If you saw these pictures on an Ebay auction for a Corvette, what would you say about it?"

Personally, I don't think it's the most well thought out piece of engineering, but then again I'm a "keep it simple, keep it stock" kinda guy.

Since it runs backwards, it now generates a proton flow instead of electron flow.
Confuses the atoms, but it just makes the battery run backwards.

Tom, not if he as a properly aligned flux-capacitor! It will reorient the protons to think that they are electrons! Sort of ghey protons! Unfortunately his poor battery won't know the difference.
Personally I think he ought to change his name to McGyver-BlackStingray!

I'm confused as to how it can work backwards also.

Is that a stack of washers on the bottom bolt in the third pic?

it''ll charge fine running backwards but did you think about the nut on the pulley? you don''t want that thing to fly off. Also, the cooling will be a problem indeed but what has me worried more is the bolts, the stack of washers and the ridigidty of that whole setup. When the alternator becomes loose and gets mangled between the fan and even the belt it could become a very big mess

It makes power actualy. and yes cooling is a problem but i do have a new powermaster alternator that has fins that arnt bent ether way so it should be fine.... yeah i did have to use a bunch of washers and spacers. over all its prity stirdy. holds well some extra vibration at about 4k RPMs im gonna look over it and chek up how the set up is doing for a while to make sure it running fine. But the worst part of this set up is that im using a 10 inch 3/8s grade 2 bolt that is suported by a 6 3/8s grade 8 bolt. sadly no one sells a 10 inch bolt of grade 5 or 8, so my bigest fear is the 10 inch bolt braking in the block.. .... The way i found out that alternators work backwards was when i saw a friend of mine spin a alternator backwards while testing it. it made power so i called powermaster and ask them if there alternators work backwards, they did so i bought one :) .... ill get more pics later and probably refine it a littel more.

P.S. im wondering who else is running a electric water pump here? and how did they do it?????
