Default Car alarms

Want to get some feed back on what brand of car alarms are popular for C3's. Which are the best, which are the worst?

in my opinion they all suck...
if they want it they will get it...whatever it is...
you hear them go off "by accident" ALL the time and NOBODY EVER calls the police or does anything except say "somebodies alarm is going off"...

i opted for a keyless entry system to update my C-3...
A LOT cheaper and is just as cool...got a key fob and everything...
it has the tiny, red flashing light on the dash just like an alarm too so it appears to be an alarm...

i had a "radio shack" alarm in my car, its the one that panicks "PLEASE HELP ME". it didn't work very well so i removed the unit. It would act up in the middle of the night and things like that. now i have nothing, but the car never leaves my sight unless in the garage anyways so....

I have a 74, which had manual locks. I installed a bar in the door frame the latched on to a solenoid so I now can open and lock my doors remotely. I used a Clifford alarm, which Im very happy with. i can also roll my windows up and down remotely, just something cool.

Do you know if Clifford sells that complete set-up? It sounds like what I have been thinking of.

Was changing the dist. cap on my 81 last weekend , and while I was pulling off the protective shroud BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!. Went in the car and shut it off and it never came on again. (must have pulled on a wire or something???)

I installed an AutoPage XT-75LCD in my Vert....and I am VERY pleased! I have manual locks and windows. This one will page me, up to 1/4 mile, when someone messes with my car and will show up on the LCD pictureon my pager. It has auto ignition disengage, if someone or something approaches the car, it gives a warning beep, and if they touch the car, the siren goes off (120 dcbl)...VERY LOUD enough to hurt my ears.....and I get paged. If they open either car door or hood....all hell breaks loose! All this cost me (installed professionally) $450.00! Not bad for PEACE OF MIND!

P.S....I can also get the temp of the inside of the Vert.....

I just researched it myself. I decided on one I saw at http://www.neverstolen.com (it could be http://www.neverbeenstolen.com ). Anyway I want that one to make sure it doesn't start, but I want a cheapo, visible noisy alarm to keep the kids away from my stereo. It won't keep it from being stolen but it will keep the petty thieves away. The ravelco won't keep the stereo save though.
I think I can do both for around $300 total.

I think my plan is best of all. I plan to install an electric fuel pump with a hidden switch to it. This would allow the thief to start the car and get a short distance away before the carb runs out of gas. This would hopefully cause the car to block traffic, draw attention to the thief and cause him to bolt.

Whattya think?
