Re: PULLED OUT THE TRANS AM LAST NIGHT[pics] (KenSny)
Gotta love those old Pontiacs. KenSny, I had the exact same thing! My '66 3x2 was beat when I got it in '74 (paid $400 for it!), but dang, was it fast. I ended up selling it and bought a '64 that was in way better shape. Should have kept that one; what an idiot.
On the T/A's, my roommate had a '79 with a 403 Olds/ auto combination. We put a set of hookers on it with duals, opened up the scoop, re-curved the distributor and brought that thing to life! Fun cars. I always keep an eye out for a Turbo T/A to put a low compression 455 poncho in and keep the turbocharger. That oughta' be fun...

I know the felling, I love driving my 1974 t.A., It doesn"t handle as nice as my 75 vette but the H.O. 455 in it makes up for it

Heres a few of pics of my 77 Firebird Espirt. 1st pic is when I bought it new
the next is a few years later. I totaled the Firebird in a head on crash in 1986
I love my vette but this car will always be my favorite.

man, I love that front end (77,78) I can't believe they made some new with no spoilers, looks horrible. glad to see you added one, and the rimes look awesome. I've never seen one with that pinstriping scheme. I love it... what happened to it when you smashed it? must have went to parts. :( If i ever write mine off, I'm buying back no matter what even if it looks like a train ran over it.

I did buy it back but it was a mess. I was still living with my parents at that time and after about a year of having it sit in the drive way they made me sell it. Man it was like selling a piece of my soul. I spent all my time pouring over the Summit's catalog deciding what to buy next or sketching pictures of my car with different body mods. I had just had the hood cut and a L-88 hood scoop fiberglassed on and a fresh coat of paint done. Two weeks later totaled. The only pictures of it finish where after the accident :cry
