Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap or 1970 LT1 intake will it clear hood
I have a edelbrock performer rpm air gap and 1970 lt1 intake pretty sure the lt1 will clear will the air gap clear stock hood on a 1980 corvette using 14" air cleaner open element thanks in advance, Travis

The LT-1 intake will require a drop base. Mine has little room under the BB hood, but I have heard they will fit with the right drop base and lid.

Ive got a 73 with a RPM Air Gap and a stock mid rise hood from 73 and there is about 3/4 inch clearance jsut watch for engine torque movement when you hit the gas but I solved that with a set of Mounts from Energy Suspension. :steering:

As far as I know, the Performer RPM Air Gap will NOT clear a stock hood on a C3, it didn't for me, I had to use a drop base, and I would assume you will have to as well. :cheers:

so does teh air gap fit with the stock hood and drop base then or did you require a taller hood also is the 79 hood same ht as an 80 im new to corvette ownership so not totally familiar yet i do have a edelbrock drop base on teh air cleaner i am assuming that is what you are referring to. thx again

The RPM will fit a stock hood just so long as you use a drop base air cleaner, and yep, the 80 hood is the same as a 79. :cheers:
