How to clean/polish aluminum wheels?
I've got a '79 with original aluminum wheels that are in desperate need of cleaning/polishing. What's everyone's advise on best way to proceed and products to use? I've enjoyed it very much this year, the weather has turned crappy today and I am beginning to think of winter projects.

Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish. Its the best stuff I have used. Here is a place that sells it (found this store using google and have never ordered from them, its just an example not a recommended place to shop).

Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish worked great on mine. Only problem was my fingers were pretty sore by the time I finished all four wheels. Got all four done in an afternoon.

I had my wheels professionally polished when I lived in Utah. They charged $35 per wheel, and they turned out great. I repainted the center section and ordered new center caps to finish them off.
The price was WELL worth it to me, as I was very busy at the time and was able to complete other projects while the wheels were off.
Here are pics:
I don't have any close-ups of the wheel before polishing, but this will give you an idea.
Here are pics after it was polished, during my painting stage:
Here is the final product:

Your wheels look GREAT. I also don't have the time to do this myself, how did you find someone to do them, where what would I look for in the yellow pages?

I wetsanded my wheels with 600 grit sandpaper. Then took an arbor and mounted a cloth buffing wheel in it. Using an air grinder the wheels came up to a shine pretty fast. It is really a lot easier to do them off the car with the center cap removed.
