Tint those windows enough and nobody will be able to see a custom taylored in there.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I'm going to go run a grudge race this Friday, then it will be purely street duty for a while. Hopefully the track will hook good enough, and the weather will be right for a single-digit time slip.
Yeah, I know that I need to paint the brake booster. I want to take it out and have it powder coated to match my valve covers, but I've been enjoying driving the car too much lately.

1.43 60' time and your rear end stayed in one piece??? :skep: :skep:
With that kind of 60' time you should have had the wheels off the ground...
oliver we consistently run high 1.30 60ft's with our NHRA stocker with IRS

What about the half shafts??? The stock ones would twist... A friend of mine twisted already a few half shafts with only 500 HP...

Awesome looking car man. I've heard of your car club and have actually been on thier board a couple of times. I want to come out one weekend and stop in on you guys when I have time..just don't know which car to bring. I'm 95 Formula on your board and most others(ls1.com etc.). What rear tire setup do you run at the track? I just moved out to prarieville..I live on abby james road now, if your ever that way look me up and let me see your car. I've heard of chicken bone and saw his car ruinning at the NNCA race this year at NPR. He builds some awesome stuff. Who are you raceing this weekend?
For all the guys asking about the rear end in these cars. You have to remember that he is running an auto/stall. Its much softer on the rear end than the "instant" hit from a manual tranny. We can preload everthing while a manual tranny is shocking a "loose" rear end. My car has been so many 1.6x 60' its crazy. All I have done is upgraded the u-joints to spicer black solids.

Re: Almost put my car into the 9's!!!!! (QuickVet)
The motor sure is pretty but the car is a real sleeper. If I saw it on the street I would not be impressed and think it was just another stock vet.
Well that is until you started it up and I heard the motor.
Nice job and good luck Friday night.

Wow. Oh, wow. Oh, my goodness. That is such an inspiration to me. I'm 19 with a '77 and I'm planning to start a big project on my car sometime in the next week. I doubt I'll get anything near 600hp, but it's still very inspiring to hear of someone else's success. Awesome work.

First thing I noticed in the pictures was ill taken care of Brake Master Cylinder and Booster. I ain't afarid of much, but running those times and engine, I would MAKE DAMN SURE my brakes were in the BEST shape. Just my .02. Very nice car and engine. :flag

Have you ever had any problems with your electric water pump driving on the street? Do you ever run hot? I thought those things were only for short periods of use - like 1/4 mile at a time

The electric water pump has given me no problems at all. CSI rates them as only needing o-rings replaced once every 3000hrs. That's a long time. I have plenty of friends that run them also.
My car does over-heat on trips mor than about 20 minutes at one time. I try and not go too far in one direction. It doesn't really over heat, but it starts staying at about 200-205*. That's too hot for me. My motor is 10.9 to 1 compression, so I don't want to get it too hot and possibly detonate. This should never happen because of my cam overlap, but I don't want to take a chance.
I've checked my plugs a couple times, and theey look great. No detonation at all.

I wish this would have came along a few months earlier. I worked in Gonzales for a while at Southwest Computer Bureau. I would have loved to take a ride in that thing. Good luck with your runs and stay safe.

Holy poopie. Nice work man. I can't wait to get my project dialed in. My cam is a big smaller than yours though. :p:
