Rim width vs. tire size?
I was getting ready to buy 225x70x15 BFG Radial TA's for a 1973 that I recently bought. When I looked at the manufacturers "rim width range" it states that this tire is for rims which range from 6.0" to 7.5". Of course my rim width is the standard 8". I've seen a lot of C3's with the aove sized tire on them. What size tire should I get that will fit the best. I know personal preference may have some factor, but just technically which size should I get. I knew that you guys on this forum would know the answer.
Thanks

245 but they may rub some cars in front....check it out, or don't turn too tightly......and on the rear, check the E-brake mounting tab...they SHOULD clear I think...but check for sure...against the sidewall on the t-arm....

The 225/70x15 and the 245/60x15 have the same diameter which is also the same as the original GR70x15 tires (no need to change speedo gears). The 245 clears nicely on the 73. A good fit, give more tread on the ground, and fills the wheelwell very nicely.
