Default '74 engine detailing question

I'm planning on detailing the motor on my '74. The first thing I'm planning on doing is repainting the air cleaner base and lid. I was wondering what type of black I should use. Do I need to use Semi-gloss or gloss black? Can you guys help me out?

i'd use semi gloss...its easier to hide mistakes with it. plus, you can't go wrong with semi!
