I went to the semi local junkyard today to inquire about getting the seatbelts for my 76 vette. I had foundout that they come in drak grey and tan and you need the rear seatbelts, not the front ones. So i went down there, it was my 2nd time there, and check out the Fbodies. They had about 15 of the gen 4 Fbodies there and he said it was 50 bucks for the pair, i semi removed them today but need to go back tomorrow cause some of the bolts are torz heads. Well thats $25 cheaper than Billy Grhams camaro and firebird junkyard where most people order them from. well i saw about 5 cars w/ good seatbelts in them and they were all tan. I belive there to be about 10 cars i could pull the seat belts from and they are mostly tan. So i would be willing to get them for forum members, but id have to chage a bit for them. Im thinking 15 dollars, which brings them to 65 bucks a peaice, plus shipping. I need the money so thats why id charge. Well the cheapest ive seen them before was 75 plus shipping. Tomorrow im gonna go get my belts and ill weight them at the post office to she what shipping wqould be. I also belive that if i go in there to buy 3 pairs he might give me an extra 5 bucks off a pair, and i would transfer the savings to you, but no gaurntees. I ended up paying $91, after shipping, which I thought was a nasty deal.
When I told him that I needed tan ones, he hesitated and had to think if he even had any. So, those tan ones are rare. I had a '99 Camaro, and most of the interiors that year had grey belts, so the tan ones will be hard to come by.
Also, I don't know what year belts I got, but the famale portion of mine came with little red buttons that are located on the side. They do not look like the stock belts at all. I was a little disappointed about that.
OK i got mine today and the guy said if i buy a few i can get them for 40 bucks a set. thats 55 plus shipping for anyone who wants them. I took a quick walk around and only saw one grey set but i htink there are probobly 2 more out there. What surprised me was that many of the camaros had retracters but not seat belts. Im guessing that alot of people came in for buckles or something, the belts have been slashed.

hmm my buttons are in the same place, they resemble the orgionals. Also most of the cars there are tan, but like i said they have been slashed so im not sure how many i can get, there are 10-15 Fbodies 94 and up, but more than half have the rear belts slashed, im also dyeing mine to macth cause my interior is red.

I was wondering if you could do me a favor. I am worried that the set that Graham sold me won't fit since they have the little rectangular button and not the standard square button. I think I read here that they are too short.
The femaile portion of the buckle measures just a little under 8.5" from the tip of the buckle receiver to the end of the bolt hold down.
If these won't fit, I will be returning them to Graham, and maybe I can get a set from you?

Yes 55 bucks. I just dyed mine red today, they turned out ok, i really should have bleached them first. I know there is one gray set there in the yard and ill check for others. I might go buy what i canb at other junkyards and take them to carlisle. Ill check aboyut that side button when i get home and give you an answer later.

Im sorry to inform you that thje junkyard wont be open either friday or saturday. And i leave for 3 weeks on sunday. That means i wont be able to get the seat belts for three weeks. Im sorry about this and understand if you would like to get them from anyone else. Ill post a message o nthe thred for anyone else who was interested, and i will be fully interested in continuing any deals once i return from flordia. I was hoping to do this before I had to leave but it took alot longer thani had thought.
