Re: 69 L88 survivor for sale in C3 for sale section
MJ,
If the VIN for this car is 194379S714904, then yes, I can tell you quite a bit about this car... :)
Perhaps Matt (Motown) can confirm this?
Of more importance is the reference once again to Jim Mattison's project to make the Chevrolet vehicle records available in the same way he did with the Pontiac information (through Pontiac Historical Service). I'm looking forward to that day...
Re: 69 L88 survivor for sale in C3 for sale section (groovyjay)
if you want a car like this build it for less than $50,000/60,000 and you could drive it every day. sure the number wount match but it will run just as fast. :chevy
As usual, we all have our opinions... :) here is my .005 cents. I am guessing the guy is looking for at least $150 due to the rarity, condition, and documentation of the car. Seems to me it only has that value to a serious collector or a museum because driving it will hurt the value. The interior carpet looks unbelievable in the pic (ie, brand new). Hard to believe it still looks like that after 35 years, even if the car was not driven at all. It is not my favorite color, but that's just me... :) Also, even if I had the $$ and the museum for a car like this I would want to confirm that it is the real deal, and not a car that was manufactured to match documentation obtained from GM Canada. One thing I learned from watching TV is that they have some mighty fine restoration shops in Canada and they know their vettes and they know L88s too!! (Dream Car Garage). MJ
