Default Found in an old barn!!

Does a 78 Indy Pace Car tickle your fancy??

http://www.wegnerauctioneers.com/Sag...20Salvage.html

I came across a reference to this on a porshe forum. Thought someone should know about this vette before it gets auctioned off this saturday.

Such a shame to see one in that condition. Hope someone rescues it!

Might be too rusted to bring back too. It looks like that muffler rusted itself off the car.

Nice, a vette and a porsche. I want both too.

I have the Vette... working on the Porsche. That one wouldn't be too bad

I would restore the Porsche before that Vette, rust has eaten through the bottom of the rim !

Did you see that big rust spot above the rear wheel. No thanks, I'll take the pace car.

That's just surface rust, I could grind that off in a matter of minutes and it would be fine. As for the vette you can have it, the rust on the wheel tells me that car is completely WASTED underneath.

I don't understand why all these photos were taken in 1999, yet they are just going up for auction now. Seems fishy to me.

Saginaw Ford Tractor is about 3 miles from my home. I will see if a person can gain access to the stuff that is being auctioned before Saturday. I agree, if the Pace Car has been sitting outside all this time, it might not be worth saving. Hopefully, the wheels were just slapped on the car to move it around. Note, it appears like only two lug nuts on the rear.

Saw that too, the front rim looks OK but that exhaust looks rough. Hope that shark can swim again.

more OT on the porsche...

Unless that body is on an older chassis, that's no way a 1968 911E... That's an early 80's 911SC... in my opinion some of the better years in terms reliabillity and performance. Hope it hasn't been outside with the driver-side window open since 1999... that would be a shame. For the right price w/o any water damage it could be a fun project.

If the Pace Car can be had for cheap it'd be good for parts or to be converted for race use with a chrome moly chassis.

well, pace cars diden`t come with steel wheels like that, so someone might have put that one on there to keep the car off the ground. it looks like the tire was flat, & sitting in water, & it was re-inflated to be put on the `vette. As far as the exhaust goes, that looks like it was dropped so something could be removed from the car, like the transmission mabey?

And now for the rest of the story. The city-township confiscated this stuff. The guy lives down the road about a mile from the tractor dealer. They have been after him to clean up his yard for about 9 years. Well about a month ago they came in and cleaned up his yard for him. They got 3 roll off dumpsters full. Anything they though they could sell they kept for this auction, to try and get there money back for cleaning his yard. They came in and took his stuff!!!!!!!
