Default Hate to do it, but I think I'm going to sell the vette

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=580501

Had an accident with my arm and wont have full use of it for some time. At the same time, I'm moving to Atlanta and would rather not move it if I'm just going to sell it anyway.

Sold my house FHA. Thought I'd be a nice guy and see what the roof looked like. Had both hands up on the roof, ready to get on it, and the ladder started sliding on the concrete away from the house. Once the ladder cleared the eaves, gravity took over. One of the bones punctured the skin on the interior of the arm and I suffered a major dislocation of the elbow. Also chipped a piece off the radius that had to be taken out.

I'm 3 weeks out and have pretty good movement, considering. However, I can't lift and it will be some time before I get 100% usage out of the arm.

Thanks for being concerned enough to ask. I was lucky that there wasn't more damage done, seeing as how I fell from about 14-16 feet up.

Well, if you'd be up for helping with transport fees, maybe we can work a deal.

If I don't sell her before I move, I'll reassess whether or not to keep her.

I'm sorry to hear your selling (I would buy it if you were closer), but I encourage you to keep it. My left arm has been permanently damaged in a motorcycle accident, which also caused me to get out of motorcycle riding and back into Corvettes/muscle cars. It's been two and a half years since the accident and I can't lift my arm up above shoulder level and it's difficult to get it that high. I was pretty devistated for quite some time, but have accepted it now and have found ways to work around it most of the time. I've found that if I don't think about what I can't do and focus on what I can do, I get a lot more done. I wish you a full and fast recovery.

It's not all about the arm, unfortunately. We're moving to Atlanta in 6 weeks and buying a much larger house. Just don't think I want to stretch the family budget with a corvette payment and the desire to rejuvenate it to its former glory.

I have no doubt that I'll get 100% use out of the arm again.

The car is unofficially sold.

She will be making her way to the warmth of California. Hopefully to a full restoration and many more enjoyable months of service.

Sorry to hear about both situations Robert. I hope everything goes well for you in Atlanta, I'm sure the winters there will be a lot easier to get used to then here. My only regrets are we never had a chance to meet although we came pretty close a couple times! :seeya

Don't I hear ya, Steve.

Wish we could've hooked up, but it's been a really hectic year. Was hoping to do a few cruises out to your place to see your vette and show off mine.

I only hope I can find another 69 to enjoy in the not so distant future in the warmer southern climates.
