Taking suggestions for 72 Corvette Paint Color. HELP!
I need some help deciding which color to paint my 72 corvette! I think that it was easier making a committment to marriage than it is to deciding on a paint color for my car. I am a perfectionist and thus have chosen to do the complete restoration by myself. The last thing that I want to do is choose the wrong color. I am open to suggestions of other Corvette Forum members favorite colors.

Yellow. If i could repaint my car it would be yellow. No question about it. That is the coolest color for the vette.

Pewter - it's a '72 only color, and the rarest color that year. Plus it looks sharp - especially with a red interior.

It's such a personal preference kind of thing, I don't understand how you can ask for suggestions  Like it never occured to you paint your vette red.... or yellow..... or white..... or blue? What is the original color, BTW? I can appreciate a nice custom color, but now that I am familiar with the factory colors, a "wrong" color looks odd to me. By that, i mean a 72 one year only color on a 69 for example. Ontario orange with a green vinyl interior is a truly striking color combination! MJ

I would stick close to the orginal color of the car myself. Mine was red when I bought it, then found blue, and white under it, so I stripped it and went close to orginal color Yellow. But mine is a pearl yellow.

FWIW, if you're a perfectionist and doing the restoration yourself and want to maximize the value of your efforts then you might want to put it back to the original color. Of course it's your vette and your nickel so in the end it's whatever color that you like,..personally I like my '72 dressed in the original Targa Blue color but I have a black interior.
