Well, test run #2 on my engine rebuild went well, except for the temp guage which pegged itself to a horizontal position. Pointing toward 3 o'clock. And that was before the engine had time to warm up!

I checked the wiring and the connector and it worked well before the rebuild.

Any ideas?

Oh, and it stayed there after I turned the car off!

I would check to see if the wires got burnt by the exhaust, check wires, and if it stays pegged then the guage is probably bad.

i had this same problem when i had the 383 installed (scaired the crap out of me) turned out it was just wiring(sorry i cant spell)
