TH350 leaking some fluid at the shifter shaft
I know there's an o-ring or seal that goes on the shifter shaft and I imagine that's what the problem is. But where can I order a shifter shaft seal (and is this the proper name for it so I don't sound like a moron when I go to order it)? Could I order it from NAPA? What should I tell them that I need? Thanks guys.

its called the "selector shaft seal" you should be able to get it at the local parts store, if not go to a chevrolet dealer.
be careful putting it in tough, if it bends at all it will leak.

if the shaft bends? or the seal bends? What's the seal look like anyway, it's just an o-ring right?

the shaft wont bend, the seal might. it looks like a mini wheel bearing seal.
it has a metal outer ring with a rubber seal. a deep socket that is the same size might work to install it straight.

I bought mine at the Chevy dealer. Other forum members have recommended buying a new selector shaft as well because when the shaft wears the sealing area is bad. That's probably a good idea to buy the shaft, but I did not and I have no leaks.
