Does your wife let you keep vette body parts in the livingroom ??
Mine has voiced her concerns, but has let it go for now.
I just finished washing the firewall, after grinding down all the bonding areas.
It was wet, and the garage was cold. I needed this thing to dry thoroughly
before starting in on the POR-15. Hmmmm - the wood stove is cranked up
nice and toasty - so that's where I brought it. This thing is squeaky clean on
the major surfaces, and does NOT smell like an engine.

Kim started to make comments that it was in the way - so I had to move it. :cuss :nono:

Here is a close-up of the #1 body reinforcement area. I will be attaching these
with stainless rivets and an adhesive, so I roughed these surfaces up, too.

My son saw the nice clean firewall in the livingroom, and asked me when the
vette would be handed down to him. "Never, never, never, .... hahahaha :reddevil :reddevil
He was quite upset.

As soon as the weather warms up a few degrees, I can get the garage above
freezing and start painting and attaching the firewall. This is gonna be fun
but scary. Any mistake at this stage is gonna be hard to fix later.
Stay tuned ... :seeya

I have a Glass T top in the family room, but the firewall, there is a nice touch. Get some plate glass and I think you can replace that old lobster trap table. :hurray:

I didn`t have body parts in the living room, but I did have several boxes of parts from Summit stacked in my computer room/den that my wife finally asked me when I was gonna get around to installing. Overall though she is very easy going. They had sat in the room for a looooong time before she ever said anything.

$$$ on the vette, and she would need proportional compensation. :yesnod:
I have mine delivered to work and take them home in the cloak of darkness.

Trouble is that it has been -10F to 0 here at night the last couple days -
and it takes all day to even start to warm the garage enough to paint.
Above 20, there is no problem - and it looks like the weather will be
cooperating in the near future.
HUH - I'm not seeing the last 2 (of 4) pictures anymore. Everyone else seeing them (kid's face) ?

I don't need to where I live now but in the past I have had corvette parts in every room in the house.. My wife doesn't really enjoy it but she puts up with it.

Given our warm climate, I have no justification for bring parts in unless they just arrived from UPS (unpacked). I keep magazines and catalogs in the LR but nothing else from the vette.

My wife has her :cuss Rustang parts scattered all over the house. She better not complain if I have a few Corvette parts around. :jester

I have Rustang parts, too - but they are mostly outside rusting.
PS - that woodstove (Vermont Castings Defiant) is the same age as that
firewall. They were both manufactured in/around 1975.

Body parts are forbidden! :nono: However, suspension, engine, and brake parts are OK.
When I brought home my first Harley Davidson she told me NO motorcycles in the living room. Years later when a tornado took the garage and damaged the house - it was her HD that we had to park in the living room. :yesnod:
She is very tolerant of me - My advice ... find a good one and keep her!

My wife collects dolls. When I complain of the dolls, she says I have car parts, but I respond that she doesn't have to live with the car parts in the house.

Not in the living room...but when I was in the depths of my restoration I did have the dining room COMPLETELY full of all kinds of parts. Mostly new stuff still in the boxes, but also alot of interior stuff (including seats).
Right now there are a few parts in boxes waiting to be shipped to CF members who bought them from me, part of the headliner from my Suburban, and a new intake manifold and gaskets in the dining room.
Under our bed is the spare top for my '96, plus a few miscellaneous small parts like spare tail lights and such.
But nothing in the living room.

Forget the parts!
My wife got pretty pissed when she saw me removing and installing new T-Top weatherstrips on the livingroom rug. :yesnod:
