Default C 3 Turn Signal Lever replacement

Can anyone advise me on how to remove and replace the turn signal lever on a Tilt/ telescopic column in a 1979 corvette.
Not the turn signal mechanism, its OK. But the bent lever is very wobbly and I want to replace it with a straight lever.
I have dismantled the steering column down to the removal of the signal mechanism which is out of the column but I can't see how to remove the lever.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The lever itself just pulls straight out. No need to dissassemble anything.

Thanks 4-vettes, I have tried to pull the lever straight out but it will not budge even after lubricating with WD40. I can rotate the lever a fraction but if I apply too much pressure it will break down near where it enters the solid housing.
Is there a retaining clip or something else to push or press to dislodge the lever ?

At the end of the lever there is a small socket. There is a sping & small bearing in the pivot bracket that secures the lever in place so it won't fall out, so yes there will be resistance pulling the lever straight out...
If your car is equipped with cruise there is also a small wire and connector that will need to be disconnected.

Try and heat the parts with a Hot Air Gun and then add a tiny amount of lubricant and give it a pull. That has worked for me in the past.

Thanks ctmccloskey. That's a good idea, I'll combine your advice and bmotojoe's advice and give it another try today.

Thanks everyone for the advice. With heat, a little lubricant and a mighty heave it came right out and the new one just pushed straight back in. Thanks again.
