Lars and family,
I am shocked and saddened to hear news of your tragic loss to such a senseless act of violence. As you have seen here, the Corvette community stands behind you and is here for you and your family. God bless those children! I hope that over time you and your family will be able to get some sort of closure from this. Please don't hesitate to reach out for whatever we may be able to help with, and may your daughter rest in peace.

May God watch over all involved.
So sorry for the loss of your child.
I can only imagine that it is through God, family and friends that a man can make it through this.
Prayers are with you.

What a tragedy
My heart goes out to Lars and his family. I was lucky enough to meet Lars 21 years ago when he came to South Florida. He even went to my beach condo that I had at the time.

Lars, I do not know you personally, and you definitely do not know me. You have (unknowingly) taught me everything about corvettes and helped me though the pains of working on my C3. The man who previously was just the little profile picture of a guy drinking beer by a red C2 has now been humanized to me beyond belief. I woke up here to check the forum for some advice on my carb and found myself in shock, anger, and sorrow.
I want you to remember that God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. I hope justice is served. Love from the corvette community!

Deepest condolences for you and your family. You help so many and ask for little in return. Nothing will ever be "normal" again, but hopefully your new normal will find you and yours finding a way to move forward and heal.

Oh my God. I just saw this. Such a horrible, senseless tragedy. Lars, I have no words other than you will be in my prayers.
So much evil in this world.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My daughter is 6, and I can't imagine losing her.
I've read your papers back 15-20 years ago and still reference them today. You are an outstanding asset to the community. I just wish I was old enough to drink when you were doing your tuning for beer tours.
You and your family will be in my prayers. We are all hurting with you.

He also created a local group labeled the CCC, or the Colorado Corvette Crazies, to carry on the driveway tuning events. I was honored to be a founding member and we gathered often in my garage to work on various Vettes, including the frame-off restoration of my barn-find 1969, 17K mile, 427 tri power L71.
Memories last forever (or until we get demented), and Lars is great at making memories.

I am so shocked by this news. My heart truly goes out to you Lars. Your Daughter was about the same age as my oldest boy. It is always tragic to lose a child. No matter the age or circumstance. This circumstance is just beyond one's capability to even understand.
My deepest condolences.

Unbelievably sad, and shocked to the core. I think it is quite evident how much you have had an impact to people here on the CF, including me.
You have my deepest thoughts and prayers Lars.

James B, you bring to mind a historical factoid about Lars that only we old folks may remember, his "Tuning for Beer Tours" when enthusiasts from around the country would invite him to their driveways over a weekend to tune up the Corvettes of your friends. I don't know how many cities he visited, but it was a lot. He even prepared a windshield sticker labeled "Tuned by Lars" which he would attach the the cars he tuned. Even though I am a long-time friend and neighbor, I never earned one of the coveted stickers. He would always joke with me and offer to use my Edelbrock carbs. as a doorstop.

Thanks for those memories. I first met Lars in 2001 when driving cross country from WA to RI. My then brother-in-law helped me do a cam swap at his house in Aurora and Lars invited me up to Lafayette to help retune the car. Second time I met him was a Tuning for Beer event in NH (I drove up from RI). I want to say that was in the 2004 or 2005 timeframe.
He is even in Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lars_Grimsrud
And made the New York Times:

Lars has always been a great member of this community and the support in this thread demonstrates that.
