Default BF Goodrich & Yellowing?

Time for new tires, are the raised white letters still turning yellow/brown? Thanks in advance for your replies.

I have a set of BFGs 255/60/15s about 8 months old and they have brown spots i cannot remove and were like that early on... not cleanable as it's bleeding through the white and not on top.
I love the BFGs but I emailed them within a few months and said this is my last set i will purchase, ive been through lots of same size cooper's and I'm going back.
I've read that they were fixing the oil bleeding through the white but again I purchased these in about April.

I bought my latest set of BFG's earlier this year as well, and yes, they still turn brown.
But I use acetone to clean the white letters as part of my detailing routine,
Takes a little time, but makes them white as snow.
Also makes people scratch their heads at car shows...lol

I bought Cooper Cobras close to two years ago and no Browning problems with them. A quicky with a Brillo pad every now and then. They cost less than the BFG's. They also have a slightly higher top speed rating, if that matters to you.

I was tired of the bfg letter issue, some people say they don't have an issue anymore ,bfg said it's been fixed. I went with cobras.

I have a rule. I bought BFG RBL tires for our '68. Turned brown. They wouldn't do a thing even though they knew they had an issue. Now they say it's fixed and it appears it isn't, or 'maybe' at best. My rule? They fooled me once; never again and I'll be sure to let others know. Coopers look good. Our son is actually at Big O right now getting Coopers on his Terrain. Best, Paul

Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T
Almost exactly the same specs as the BFG T/A and no browning issues.

Cooper Cobras for me, as said, clean with a Brillo pad every now and then and they stay white.

I had the BFG tires about 30 years ago, great tire, no discoloring. I would say in the last 15 years is when the problem showed up on the tires, hit or miss i guess.
Life is to short to screw around with the lettering discoloring on the tire.
Went with the Cooper's this time, nice tire, drives nice.

Thank for the replies. Think I'm going with Gregs recommendation of Mickey Thompson. Never heard of a racer named "Cooper"😊

What happened to the white crayon/wax sticks that we used back in the day to dress the letters? Bright white and stayed on for a long time. Yellowing letters wouldn't be enough for me to ditch a tire brand that I liked everything else about.

I got mine last fall and had a few letters on one tire turn brown...seems everyone has their own special fix for this... I think I sprayed or tried everything in the house, Spot Shot rug cleaner and dollar store brillow did the trick and after a couple of times it's stayed white, or as white as the others that need periodic normal cleaning... If there is a next time I'll try the MT's....

It's funny, I've seen that Awesome Cleaner mentioned a number of times...It did not even touch it for me, ... I wonder why different stuff works for people..

That is the only thing that works for me. My front tires are the ones that go brown and have a 2018 mfg date. My rears stay white and have a 2017 mfg date.

I buy Cooper Cobras. Cheaper than BFG and no browning problem. Howeve,r I needed two front tires for my 69 Camaro that only BFG made in the size I needed and bought them 2 years ago and have had no browning problem.
