Negative, this is different from the normal yellowing/brake dust/road dirt that always has been there on BFGs.... They will turn brown just sitting in your garage, not yellow, truly brown, Westleys doesn't touch it, straight bleach has little effect...There are tons of threads on this..... I've been using Westleys for years, including the whites on some bikes...

I have a friend that recently bought some BFG's for his 71 GTX and they started to turn brown almost immediately. He tried everything mentioned here and then some and finally ended up painting them with some sort of a paint pen. It worked pretty well but he said it was tedious work.

A friend of mine ordered Coopers for his 1980 and one tire had a different font. Unbelievable and they mounted all the tires and didn't notice.

Unfortunately there is no connection between this John Cooper and Cooper tires. Rather, they were named for a Cincinnati auto parts dealer (I.J. Cooper) who manufactured tires under his company name the Cooper Corporation, before John Cooper (the car builder) was born.

I was merely pointing out that there was indeed a racer named Cooper, was not trying to make a connection with John Cooper and Cooper tires.

From what I have read they are made in China or Mexico along with Mickey Thompson's. His tires came from Mexico. Junk imo. Also the white lettering on another didn't have a smooth edge aroung the lettering. Is was all jagged. I can't believe the tire shop mounted that crap.
He had them take them off and install BFG's. So far they are not browning. They all have manufacturing plants in multiple locations.
Everything is a roll of the dice these days on parts, tires etc.

I’m afraid I can’t help with BFG letter browning. I’m chiming in as another satisfied Cooper Cobra customer.
Historical photos showed that my car used to have Eagle GT’s. The previous owner put on new Cooper Cobras when he sold it to me.

Those look nice. My Coopers do have the browning problem so it not just BFG. Ther must have been a bad batch of material going around the industry. I need to try the acetone as mentioned in a previous response.

I think the problem is for the same reason other things such as parts are failing. Chinese/ Mexican junk due to low standards.
