Default Hood not opening

Just put the hood back on my 75 after a radiator swap. I got the marks I made for replacing it pretty good (or I thought so). Now the right side won't open. Is there a trick to getting it open?

You could try pushing the hood left or right while someone else pulls the release from the inside.
If that doesn't work, there is a cable on the hood that connects the driver's side latch to the passenger side latch. You could try pulling on that cable if you can get to it

You should be able to pull up on the left side and push the lever forward, I used a 12" piece of wood trim I had laying around. Pulling the release from the inside will do you no good. The left side lever is the only thing that will release the right side.

Good opportunity to consider installing safety release cables.

I did push the left side lever. Still did not open the right side. When my wife gets home I'll have her push it while I wiggle the right side.

If you don’t have any luck, start using Google to search the multitude of articles. Please note that you want to search with 1975 model year, as other model years are a bit different. On my 73, unfortunately I had to remove the rocker panel and then a splash guard to reach up with my arm and push the latch to get the Dam Hood opened. Like I said, start searching and reading if you don’t have any luck with the above tips.

The cable on the hood is exposed so you should be able to reach under the hood and pull (or push) the cable sideways to unlatch the passenger's side...

Thanks all. Got it open. I had my wife push on the latch on the drivers side while I wiggled the left side. Before I close it again I'll try to do a better job of lining it up and put some type of release cable on each side as some have mentioned.

Are these something you make or purchase?

Or you can make them up with some garage door cable and fittings for about 5 bucks.

I ended up just making one. There was already a small hole in the wiper bay right in that area. So I just ran it into the wiper bay. Works great. Thanks for all the help.
