Changing out my 5 year old failed fuel pump I noticed play in my passenger front wheel bearing. Which was all-new 5 years ago with quality SKF parts.
Snugging it up I realized that wasn’t the play I was feeling. Rather it was the lower ball joint. Which like everything else on my car was new 5 years/4500 miles ago. I checked the driver side and it was worse. No wonder my alignment had been off lately lol.
Whatever upper/lower ball joint kit I bought new in 2018 is clearly garbage. It would have come from Paragon or Zip.
All my Ball joints and tie rod ends say "Made in the USA". on them. They seem to be high quality parts. The place I purchase my suspension parts from in Melbourne Australia like to tell me that although they stock the Moog parts, their house brand is much cheaper and they have never had any complaints.
I believe the house brand, (Read, made in china) are cheaper. I don't believe the second part. Standard of the industry! We have never had any one complain before. Sure, right.
There was a post about Moog not too long ago. From memory (that isn't too good) it mentioned there were many countries Moog can be made. So like the advise above said, be sure they are made in USA.
Moog has them made to their quality specs regardless of where they are made but if its still important to you you might may or may not be able to choose the factory your parts come from.. I bought mine from rock auto and got lucky, its all US made. (or USA assembled and boxed anyway)

mid 2020 i had a mix of Mex Indian and USA.. look for USA..inventories i bet vary..

Was that fuel pump that failed an "AC Delco" unit by chance? They were stating "made in the USA" even on their products that weren't and they were fined for it...

Is Edelbrock the pump to get? I'm going to replace mine because it's leaking a little oil around gasket and is old.
I started another thread a few down from here asking that exact question. Edelbrock seemed to be the safe choice so I went with it. It seems to be a quality unit. In any case Delco isn’t the answer that much I can say.

my last carter/delco/delphi pump literally sprayed the whole side of my car with oil but to be fair I had a malfunctioning PCV valve and the breather alone just wasnt cutting it. I found this failure is common if you have blowby pressure and my carb was washing my cylinders with fuel at the time thanks to a locally acquired garbage edelbrock brand gasket I bought for the holley style quick fuel carb that was literally the wrong size and blocking an important passage. The auto store would not let me return the pack because I actually installed one even when I showed them they werent cut properly compared to the correct size cheap blue ebay ones but I digress...
The delco unit is sold as multiple different brands including carter which I believe used to actually make them for AC Delco before all this stuff got bought up and shipped overseas for manufacturing.... Delphi also sells the same exact pump which their name on the box also. Carter does still make their own heavy duty version pumps I believe and in the states too but not these.
The elelbrock works great if you have the regulator to choke it down... especially if your using a crappy 1950s carter reproduction aka elelbrock carb that drowns and floods if the pressure is anything over 4.5 psi. Been there done that.. I still use a regulator for my quick fuel carb with the crappy carter fuel pump to regulate it down to 6.5psi when this goes ill try the edelbrock but I didnt think it had the bypass line I needed when I looked last.

Fresh Moog units and omg my car handles razor sharp again. The wheel is back to arrow straight with zero pull. I had resigned myself to have the alignment checked after 4 new ball joints but now I’m not so sure I need to.
One guy compared Moog ball joints to **** machine gun turrets and that was reason for dismissal. The uppers do look sorta menacing when the wheel is off.
Why would anyone care what your ball joint looks like? They seem hi quality and work well.
