1976 new HD differential cover rearward spring position discovery
Hello, I recently installed an HD differential cover in my 1976. The spring and everything else is all factory. I noticed the position of the spring to be more rearward than the factory cover when installing the outer spring bolts. Then when I went to reinstall the heat shield it was really obvious the spring position is now different. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

Had to make it thicker somewhere to be HEAVY DUTY
Is it that much of an issue where things don't line up ?
You running 1000HP & needed this ??
Just asking

If you bought a Muskegon Brake cover, call Jeff Cady and speak with him. If you bought a knockoff cover, you get what you paid for. Most knockoffs are cheap in quality but not in price. I have seen them with the bolt holes off where you couldn't get a socket on the bolt head.
63-77 are all the same cover, 78-79 are different. The lower ears are the primary difference and less likely to snap if incorrectly loaded.
