Default Post your '69 Pics

I love the '69 sharks, so do most of the girls i know ... just makes me want the car more. Anyway, I'm about to join the Air Force, so I'm going to put the enlistment money I get into the purchase of a '69. I believe I can get any job I want. I scored a 99 of 99 on the ASVAB, which is awesome. When I get one, my '84'll go into storage until I can start restoring it into drivable  condition.

Could any of you guys and gals post some pics of the '69s, I want to get a black vert, with sidepipes and a 427 ... manual .... hmmm .... :steering:

Here's a red 'un. MUCH prettier than black, though I'm a little prejudiced.

micks69....

That is a nice color scheme(green/beige) for a C-3 bumper car. Can't say I have seen that combination before except for a C-4. If I had some money lying around that wasn't going towards refurbing the '74 I have I would inquire about taking it off your hands.

Anyway... here's an old pic of a '69 I had when I lived in New Orleans. Had it painted in *Saints* colors.... black with a gold stripe. Interior matched.

The sharpest 69 convertible I have seen is the triple Black one I own. It has almost every option for that year except alarm and defogger. Its got 427/400HP, AC, PS, PB, 4 speed, T&T, Leather, Speed Minder, 3:70 Posi, AM-FM, Full Tint, PW, Head Rests, Shoulder Harness and Chrome Louver Trim. And it’s also got factory style GM side pipes and covers. You can hear them on 2 mpgs I got on the Internet.

One video shows the day I bought it in Florida and you can hear it with one set of chambered side pipes. Later I changed them to a brand new set of the GM factory chambered side pipes as used on 65-67 (I know what to do) and in that video my wife is driving it. Email me if you want the URL’s.

It looked just like the one that was on the old C3 CF forum had in the upper left hand corner. Cajun 75 posted a link to that one above – but mine is even better. :D I bought if from a CF fellow called 3x2-427. Jerry told me that it won numerous trophies, was in Corvette Fever and also in a section on SpeedVision. Honestly, of all Vettes I have owned, this one draws more lookers at the cruises than anything - even Vipers and Cobras – but it’s not for sale, it’s my driver. :D

Default 1968 and 1969 are similar on the surface

Sir,

I would differ with the statement that 1968 and 1969 are the same, more or less. I would say less, especially if you need a load of 1968 parts. On the body the hoods and doors are different. The hood latches and support are different. The door lock, release and handles are different. The grills and grill mount brackets too. The front cross member, cenyet bumper support, the frame horns that mount the end of the front bumper and those brackets, the chrome ends of the windshield header are different on conv. The steering column, steering wheel, the seats, seat covers, seat belts, shoulder harness, rims, tires, steering knuckles, frame assembly, dome light, ignition, radio, *****, right hand dash pad, shifter, ****, firewall insulation, door panels, door release, AC, heater, rear quarter trim panels, parking brake console, fuel lines to the carb and frame, radiator support, seals and air dam, 427 radiators, 327 with AC or auto radiators, wiring harnesses, plus convertible top rear pins and receivers, wiper door vacuum actuator and mechanism, wiper arms, blades, squirters, sunvisors and mounts, antenna, headlamp doors, bezels, firewall heat shields, etc, etc, etc. In addition there are many early-late features found on 1968.

They look similar on the surface, but anyone who has shopped for 1968 parts knows they have many unique parts being the first C3 model and thus are very tough to find.

I remember this car and know how meticulous Jerry is; you are lucky to own such a beautiful vette!
