idle adjustment tool for Quadrajet
Are there any alternatives to the $15-20 tools for adjusting the lean stop
of the qjet idle circuit?
I want the tool to adjust the lean stop (2mm D). Almost seems like I could make one
out of some tubing or something (as long as it slides in the hole in the air horn.

Re: idle adjustment tool for Quadrajet (88'Cubka)
I made one out of a 4" length of copper tubing I found in a junk box. Hammered it flat to fit the APT screw (D shaped) and bent it 90* to provide a handle/leverage and an "index" point for counting turns. Eventually I got fancy and filled the end with solder, and inserted the APT screw while the solder was still molten.... formed itself to the APT scew for a perfect fit. This eliminated the slop and helped to accurately count turns. Been using it for about 4 years. Works great. Time invested: 15 minutes. Cost: 2 cents, maybe.

Adam,
I see you are not too far from me. If you would like you can use the tool that I have. It is one of those $20 jobs :yesnod:

Good idea;
Copper tubing comes in 1/4 dia - did you have to work the tube any to get it in through
the hole in the top of the carb?
78shark - you got mail.

Re: idle adjustment tool for Quadrajet (1978shark)
HI 78shark;
Thanks for the offer of the tool. Though I am looking for the smaller idle adjustment
tool. This one adjusts the electronic qjets power piston lean stop...
Guess I'll have to get the tool. The hole it has to fit in is about .200"
THanks.
