My Fiber Optic Creation
After several attempts at trying to get a successful splice on my FOs the light went off in my head ! Being an audio/video kinda guy I thought, Fiber Optics are Fiber Optics. So for the heck of it I bought a couple 50' fiber cables on Amazon for 25.00. I cut the ends off & shined my flashlight thru one of them & walla, I had light !!! So then I went to Hobby Lobby and bought 2 sizes of tiny brass tubing and made my own ferrules for the console end. Installed the tubes into the console end and just bunched them together on the end that will be in the front of the car to test again with my flashlight ! I got six 17' fiber tubes out of the two 50' cables from Amazon. I got the headlight & parking light ferrules & boots from one of the venders. So other than my time (which I have plenty of) I built my own stand alone fiber harness !!!!

That's really cool. wouldn't mind trying to rig something like that up on my 77. Would be a lot of work, but great to know my brake lights are working.

Was researching this a bit myself, and had an idea where not having to cut and do the ferules. Using the commercial fiber optic cables and using a 90 degree adapter with the FO 3.5mm plug, connect the adaptor to the console, then plug stock cable into the adaptor.
Thoughts?
