Default New fuel pump to my 69 L46

I'm not in my workshop right now, so I can messure my old pump, and I would like to buy a new fuel pump today, but I can see there are different threads.
The pump I need, is it like Carter M6624? (3/8" and 40 Gallon)
Engine: 69 L46

Thanks,
John

I would research this ALOT more. The aftermarket mechanical pumps anymore are a big problem and the aftermarket companies are claiming their specs are right. IE they claim that the proper pump for a 70+ 454 vette with a quadrajet is supposed to put out 9-11 psi of fuel pressure which is dead wrong. I wouldnt be surprised if your pumps are similarly rated wrong by Carter.

Thanks for the heads up.
It's a bit funny, because both pumpe has the same spec.
23 GPH, and 5.5 - 7 psi

I needed to replace my fuel pump on my SB and read way too many horror stores concerning replacement fuel pumps. The metal fitting to the carb are in the wrong place, or even the actual size of the pump is different. Seems that one company bought another, and then repackages them in another name box. Then there are numerous stories where the new “off shore” pumps only last for a year or two. I did locate a gentleman that rebuilds old AC Fuel Pumps.

Then your only options are rebuild your original pump if you have one and the re-builder can do a crimp style pump. Or find an new original 40482 P/N 6416471 for 69 and a P/N 6415325 for your 66. The 6415325 pump is a bolt together style and is in most cases re-buildable.

I recently installed a new carter pump. Muscle series I believe it was called. Had an issue with nozzle drip on a newly rebuilt QJet. Thought it was the float set too high. Nope. Too much fuel pressure. Tested the new pump. 9.5 lbs. Had to use an inline regulator and dialed it down to 5.5. No more nozzle drip. As mentioned. All these pumps come out of one factory and branded different names. Lots of issues with too much pressure online. Beware of this issue.

DONT BUY A CARTER> It will break very shortly after yyou install it. I went though 3 before I gave up and went with an Edelbrock. I user electric fuel pumps now and always use any new pump with a fuel pressure regulator

C3 dk
I installed a fuel pump in my 1969 350/300 over 4 years ago. I got it from NAPA part #B-0172-P for around $35 and have had no issues after about 5000 miles. The box said Carter design made in South Korea.
The spigot on the bottom where you hook in the rubber hose from fuel tank faces the wrong direction. I used the preshaped S hose I got from Zip to get around this problem.
If you go this route you might want to get a couple as shipping is the main cost for you. I've read of others having problems, but this worked for me.

Sit down when you find an original AC pump used 6415325 or 40482 start at $100 plus and 6416471 or 40482 start at $350 new if you can find one.

Here is one of each.

If you still have the original 325 pump here is a rebuild kit.

Or check with Doc Rebuild if he has any left.
