Parking brake question - 1980
Referring to the photo, the screwdriver is pointing to the parking brake anchor bolt (pin). What's the trick to loosen this bolt? I tried an open end wrench and it appears to be very tight. Do I need heat to back this bolt out?

I don't think you will get it out with the axle in place, bolt is too long. I have the parts in my shop and can check but I am not going to touch a corvette part till Sunday

Thanks for the reply. I actually don't need to get it out all the way, I was hoping to just back it out along with the 4 nuts that hold the backing shield. I just wanted to slip the old anchor pin out and slide a new one in. my plan was not to disturb the bearing, just loosen the shield. Unfortunately the bolt is so tight that the open end wrench will become just a nut rounder without heat.

Just leave the old hold down pin in place if you are just installing SS parking brake hardware. I take those bolts out with an impact gun once I have the axle out.
