Default GM Date code for 1969 Alternator

I am wondering if this alternator is correct for our '69 Corvette, I am doubting that it is. The date shows Aug 29 of 1968 but is a 55A unit. The car has factory air, and should have a 61Amp correct?

Yes, you should have a 61 amp alternator with AC.
1100825 or 1100884 would be correct for a 69
1100882 if you have a L88 or L89
