Default Parking Brake parts.

Where can I buy Parking Brakes parts for '73? I just drilled out the rivets on my rear brakes. The Parking Brakes were missing the top spring on both sides & a clip & spring on one side.

Thanx!

I got my set from Volunteer Corvette Parts. I think those would be too old to get from Chevy.IMO

I got the complete stainless steel brake kit for my 73 from Bairs Corvette in PA.
Great people to deal with and they have been in business for years.

All the parts are available from Van Steel. Their "Mechanism Kit Hardware" (part number PB-18K) contains all the springs and clips.

Terry, before installing the shoes (new or otherwise), be sure that they fully conform to the surface of the drum. Most folks don't consider that with new shoes especially after 'turning' the internal drum of the rear rotors. The result is often partial contact between the shoe and drum. They can be sculpted with some 60 - 80 grit sandpaper if necessary.

Anyone who has ever had to demonstrate the ability of their lawn tractor sized parking brake to stall the engine during a state inspection can attest to how barely adequate a functioning parking brake can be. In Hawaii, it is a requirement to pass inspection...

Good luck... GUSTO
