just move the emergency brake cable so it sits on top of the trailing arm, then you can do it, else 255-60's will clear the bracket....larger size will run too close to the bracket and....well...u know what will happen when the tire meets the bracket....

i ran 275/60/15 without removing emergency brake cable,but other cars are different

329.54 Delivered is not too bad a price from tire rack on the 255/60/15's for 4 :cheers:

I have put a 295/50/15 on them before. However, I did have to cut the bkt
off that holds the e-brake cable. Those e-brakes are usally not worth having on an automatic car. The tire did stick out the lip of the fender about a 1/4".
however it fell in with the lines of the car. I'll show you a picture if you are interested. I ran the 255/60/15 on the front which is standard for the 78 up vettes. The front tire was 3/8" shorter than the rear but you could not tell the difference looking at it. One thing to think about that would be different on your 74 is the lip inside the fender is a little larger than the lip on my 80.
