Default Help with horn repair 81 Vette!

Ok guys here's the deal with my 81 vette.

1. Horn just stopped working.

2. Bench tested horns...they are good

3. Check ground to the horn mounts....good.

4. Checked continuity of green wires from horn relay to horns....good.

5. Jumped 12 volts from pin 1 to pin 2 (or3) on relay plug and horns blew...good.

6. Checked continuity of the 3rd black wire (next to pink) on the column harmonica connector to the 3rd pin (or2) on the horn relay plug....also good.

7. Bench tested relay....also good.

8. Check continuity from horn pin, or some call it connector in the hub to the 3rd black wire (next to pink) in the harmonica connector....NADA!!!!

So....how do I fix?

1. Does the wire loom attached to the signal switch contain the 3rd black wire next to the pink one?

2. I really don't want to tear the entire column apart...I MEAN REALLY DON'T. If the signal switch loom contains that black wire, do I simply replace that switch with a new one? (which comes with the loom attached)

3. What are my options here? I do think I've isolated the break in ground that completes the circuit when the horn button is pushed.

What say the geniuses!?!

the horn button contact spring and pin probably is worn out, this is under the steering wheel and under the hub or go to

I recently went through something similar to this. My horn stopped working after the car warmed up.
I figured a bad relay or a loose connection that failed when it got hot.
Long story short, it turned out to be a bad ground through the rag joint. It is a aftermarket unit that is about 15? yrs old.
Why it worked for 15 yrs and suddenly went bad?
No idea.
But, in desperation I ran a jumper across the joint and it now works all the time.
