While I have my column I need to replace the seal - which was a bit mis-shaped, old and I seem to have misplaced at the moment. I seem to recall it was a thick-ish closed cell black foam. Are the replacements closed cell foam? Or the (rather light/flimsy) open cell foam?

Looking at the pic of the one on Willcox for example it looks a little like open cell but it is likely just low res image so hard to tell. Steering Column Seal

The last one (2014) I got form CC was closed cell, I would think they all might come from the same supplier even today but you never know
