Default Help please! Any ideas for a dual mode exhaust?

I love the dual mode mild/wild exhaust on my C6 427 Convertible. I leave the house at 6AM for work, Autocross events, and coffee and donuts in Pismo Beach. Leaving quietly is for peace with the wife, visiting kids and grandkids, and neighbors.
I see two options for my C3.
1. Quick time mufflers. $700 for a pair. The only negative comments I’ve read so far is that the muffler welds fail, and the electric valves are only warranted 90 days. They also weigh 16lbs each.

2. adapt Chevy’s dual mode Corvette mufflers. They should be very durable, but require vacuum and vacuum switches. Should be easy since that is how the headlights work. I do not want dumps, they sound like open headers.
any ideas would be appreciated.

Id just weld in some cutouts right before the muffler, use a keyfob to open
Would that be less $ than buying the mufflers and cut/welding?

The C7 mufflers don’t require vacuum and I believe run off of TPS if you are running fuel injection and can tap into that signal. There might be a stand alone controller out for them too.

Shouldn’t be too difficult to make the C6 mufflers work with vacuum.

It wasn't cheap or easy- but you (BeeJay) seem like that's how you do ALL your mods!!! Doesn't sound like either of those words are in your vocabulary!!!
Know that I have several hundred dollars just in stainless steel v-bands!!!

Made my own- but did it with sidepipes- variable exhaust-

I have 2½" straight pipe- and when I close (variable) the straight pipe the exhaust will flow through the outer muffler. So I have the best of both world at the flick of a switch.

The length of the pipe does two thing- doesn't sound like dumps and when closed the pipe acts as a Helmholtz resonator.

The other thing I did for longevity of the cut-out motors- is remote mounted them

Sound- pipes are fully open- sound like a nice set of sidepipes- the motor is only 328cu inches...

Wait. What? The C7 dual mode mufflers are electronic, and not vacuum. That means that every aftermarket muffler made for the C7 is electrically controlled muffler. Flowmaster, Magnaflow? I love the Magnaflow sound in Corvettes. I love the flowmaster sound on Muscle Cars. So, how do I find out more about these mufflers. Web site? Summit? Call them? Maybe some C7 owner is dumping his dual mode mufflers. Contact me.

Just sayin-

Electric vacuum motor and electronics mounted on the muffler - doesn't really sound like a reliable idea.

I'd at least remote mount the motor and electronics away from the muffler - just add longer vacuum lines.
